A number of Central Tai Chi class members are going along to the Heart Start course in Aldridge in a few weeks time. Heartstart is the British Heart Foundation’s initiative to teach emergency life saving skills to the British public. By attending a course, you’re helping to create a nation of life savers – where everyone knows how to save a life, and we are joining in with a free session in November.
It’s happening on November 26th at Aldridge Community Centre, Anchor Meadow, Middlemore Lane, Aldridge Ws9 8AN between 2.30pm and 4.30pm. It’s free for anyone to attend, and you can bring your friends and family.
On this two-hour training course we will learn how to:
- recognise a heart attack and a cardiac arrest
- help an unconscious person
- perform CPR
- help someone choking
- respond to serious bleeding.
I’m told that the life-saving procedures we will learn apply to children as well as adults.
